KIN•TROVE is built around a single promise: what you save is yours. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, how it is protected, and the control you keep.

In short: we collect only what we need to run KIN•TROVE, we never sell your data or use your conversations to train anything, and you can export or delete everything at any time.
01Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your name and email address, and — if you sign in with Google — the basic profile information Google provides. We use this to identify your account, secure it, and communicate with you about the service.
Conversations and recordings
KIN•TROVE exists to preserve conversations. When you record or save a conversation, we store that audio or video, along with any titles, tags, participant labels, dates, and notes you add. These recordings are yours; we treat them as private content, not as data to analyze for our own purposes.
Uploaded media
If you upload photos, audio, video, or documents to an archive, we store those files so they are available to you and to the people you have chosen to share with.
Usage and device information
To keep the service reliable and secure, we collect limited technical information such as device type, app version, general region, and basic, privacy-respecting usage events (for example, that a screen loaded or an upload completed). We do not build advertising profiles.

- To respond to support requests and send essential service notices.
We do not sell your personal information, show you advertising, or use your recordings, uploads, or messages to train machine-learning models.
03Storage, encryption & security
Your content is stored on secured cloud infrastructure. Data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS, and encrypted at rest by our storage providers. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel and protected by authentication controls.
No system can promise perfect security, but we design for least-privilege access, monitor for unauthorized activity, and work to limit the data we retain to what the service genuinely needs.
04Third-party services
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate KIN•TROVE. Each receives only the information needed to perform its function:
- Stripe — processes subscription payments. KIN•TROVE never stores your full card details; they are handled directly by Stripe.
- Cloudinary — stores and delivers uploaded media and recordings.
- Analytics — if enabled, we use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand reliability and usage. We do not use analytics that build cross-site advertising profiles.
These providers process data under their own privacy and security commitments. We will keep this list current as our infrastructure evolves.
05Sharing your content
Content is shared only at your direction. When you invite someone into an archive or extend access, they can see what you have chosen to share with them. We do not share your private content with anyone else except as required to operate the service or comply with the law.
06Your rights & choices
- Access & export. You can export your archive at any time.
- Correction. You can edit your account details and the metadata on your memories.
- Deletion. You can delete individual memories, relationships, or your entire account.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. To exercise any of these, contact us at privacy@kintrove.co.
07Data deletion & retention
When you delete content, it is removed from active systems and scheduled for permanent deletion from backups within a reasonable period. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information except where we are required to retain it (for example, basic billing records for tax and accounting).
08Children
KIN•TROVE is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
09Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.

These terms govern your use of KIN•TROVE. They are written to be read — please take a moment with them.

In short: use KIN•TROVE lawfully and with consent, your content stays yours, subscriptions renew until you cancel, and the service is provided as-is.
01Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account. By using KIN•TROVE you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
02Your responsibilities
- Keep your account credentials secure and don't share your login.
- Use KIN•TROVE only for lawful purposes and respect the rights of others.
- Don't upload content you don't have the right to store, or attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or misuse the service.
03Recording & consent
KIN•TROVE is a tool for preserving conversations, and recording laws vary by place. You are responsible for obtaining the consent of everyone in a conversation before recording or saving it, as required by the laws that apply to you. You agree to comply with all applicable recording, wiretapping, and privacy laws. KIN•TROVE is not responsible for recordings made without proper consent.
04Subscriptions & billing
KIN•TROVE offers a free tier and paid plans (Starter and Pro). Paid subscriptions are billed in advance through Stripe on a recurring basis and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your subscription settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain access until then. Prices may change with notice, and any change applies to the following billing cycle.
05Refunds
Except where required by law, subscription fees are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods. If you believe you were charged in error, contact support@kintrove.co and we'll make it right where appropriate.
06Ownership of your content
Your conversations, recordings, and uploads remain yours. We do not claim ownership of your content. You grant KIN•TROVE only the limited license needed to store, process, back up, and display your content so we can provide the service to you and the people you share with. We do not sell your content or use it to train models.
07Intellectual property
The KIN•TROVE name, brand, software, design, and original content are owned by KIN•TROVE and protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute them without permission.
08Termination
You may stop using KIN•TROVE and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or use the service in a way that risks harm to others or to the service. Before termination by us, we will make reasonable efforts to let you export your archive where lawful and practical.
09Disclaimers
KIN•TROVE is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. While we work hard to keep your archive safe and available, we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost. Please keep your own copies of anything truly irreplaceable.
10Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, KIN•TROVE and its team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
11Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be handled in the courts located there, unless applicable law provides otherwise.

How does recording work?
You start a conversation from a relationship in Your Kin — by video call inside the app, or by saving a recording. KIN•TROVE keeps the conversation whole, with its date, length, and any tags or notes you add, so you can return to it exactly as it was.
Is my data private?
Yes. KIN•TROVE is private by default. Your content is encrypted in transit and at rest, never sold, and never used to train models. You decide who, if anyone, you share an archive with. See our Privacy Policy for detail.
How do subscriptions work?
Begin free with 5 GB. Starter is $9/month for 50 GB; Pro is $19/month for 250 GB. Billing runs through Stripe and renews until you cancel. You can manage or cancel any time from your subscription settings, and you keep access through the end of the period.
How do I delete my account?
Open Profile, then choose to delete your account. This removes your archive from active systems and schedules permanent deletion. You can also delete individual memories or relationships without deleting your account.
Can I export my archive?
Yes. Memory export is available so you can keep your own copies whenever you like — your archive is yours to take with you.
Recording & memories
Trouble saving or playing back a conversation? Make sure the app has microphone and camera permission, then try again. If it persists, email us with your device and app version.

Sign-in issues, invitations, or shared access not appearing? We can help recover access and confirm what's shared with whom.
Billing
